A bank teller in Denver saved me $200 by asking one simple question

My cousin's credit union in Ohio once stopped him from taking out a loan for a vacation he couldn't afford. The teller just asked him "how are you planning to pay this back if your hours get cut next month?" And he realized he had no backup plan at all. It's funny how we get so caught up in the moment and don't think about the financial cliff we're walking toward. A good bank teller is basically a free financial advisor if you listen to them. The whole thing made him cancel the trip and start an emergency fund instead.

My buddy had something similar happen at a car dealership. He was about to sign for a new truck, already agreed to the price and everything. The sales guy just casually asked "you sure you want the extended warranty on a vehicle you trade in every 3 years?" He hadn't even thought about it. Saved like $1,500 right there. It's wild how a simple question can make you stop and actually think. Most people just want to get in and out of those places.
