A librarian in Ohio told me they quietly removed 6 books from the shelves last spring without any public notice
She said it was 'just routine weeding' but when I asked what got pulled it was all titles about local labor union history, and now I wonder how much of what I grew up reading just quietly vanished without anyone batting an eye.

Honestly I've noticed this same pattern in my own town's library. They cleaned out a whole section on the 1930s labor strikes here, called it "outdated materials." But then they kept all these old fashion magazines from the 90s no one ever looks at. It's like they decided what stories matter and what gets erased without telling anyone. Makes you wonder about all the things that quietly disappear from schools too, like old yearbooks or local history projects. Tbh it feels like someone is deciding which parts of the past are worth keeping and it's not us.
