Just lost $80 trying to access a banned news site from overseas
Honestly, I was in Singapore last month and wanted to read a report from a news outlet banned there. I bought a VPN subscription for $80 thinking it would work, but their system blocked it instantly. Tbh, it felt crazy that just reading a news article could be that hard. Has anyone found a reliable way to access info in places with strict blocks without getting your money taken?

Wow, eighty dollars just gone like that is a total gut punch. @nina_clark might be onto something about them being good at their jobs, but that level of control is just wild. It feels like they have a list of every VPN out there waiting to be blocked. Makes you wonder if anything actually works in those places without setting off alarms.

Eighty bucks for a VPN that got blocked right away is insane. I mean, that's a lot of money to just light on fire. Makes you wonder how they even catch the good ones so fast.
