My cousin in Singapore warned me about sharing that clip, I laughed, then lost my whole account
My cousin lives in Singapore and she messaged me last month saying don't repost that protest clip, they block stuff fast there. I figured she was overreacting since I'm in Ohio, so I shared it anyway with a joke caption. Three hours later my main account got frozen and they asked for a photo of my ID to get it back. I'm still locked out now and it's been 11 days. Has anyone else had a platform lock them out over one post that was legal where they live?
The part I want to know more about is where the clip actually got posted versus where it got pulled. You said you're in Ohio and it's legal there, but did the freeze come from the platform's US team or from their office in the region where your cousin is? That's the detail that would tell you if this was a country rule thing or just their global policy.
Also, when they asked for your ID, did they say which account or which post triggered it? Eleven days is a long time to sit in limbo without knowing the exact reason. Did you try making a new account yet, or are you worried that would just get nuked too?
