My Mexican cookbook got pulled at customs in Toronto, so I scanned every page before my flight
Last month I flew back with a 1970s Oaxacan recipe book from a market stall, border agents in Toronto kept it for 'cultural property review', but I'd already snapped photos of all 214 pages on my phone, so now I'm wondering if anyone else backs up their banned reading material before crossing borders?

That photo backup just makes it easier for them to seize the real thing next time, doesn't it?
