PSA: I found a whole section of blocked news sites at a cafe in Lisbon...
I was just trying to read about a protest back home while on vacation last week. The cafe's wifi had a filter that stopped me from loading three different news sites... all of them were covering the same event. It felt so strange to be in a free country but hit a digital wall someone else built. Made me think about how borders don't matter online, but blocks sure do. Has anyone run into something like this while traveling?

Digital borders are the new walls.

Wait, are you saying some places actually block VPNs now? That's wild. I thought those were just for watching shows from other countries. If they're putting up digital walls that stop VPNs, that's a whole new level of control. It feels like they're locking the ladder away too.

Ugh, tell that to my VPN! It's like a digital ladder.
