Just found out 'The Lorax' was banned in a California school district for being 'anti-logging'

I was reading an old report from the American Library Association and saw that a school district in Laytonville, California, pulled Dr. Seuss's book back in 1989. It blew my mind that a kids' book about trees could be seen as a political threat. What other kids' books have been banned for reasons that seem really silly now?

Honestly I used to think book bans were just about old stuff like Huck Finn, but seeing The Lorax on a list really got me. It's a picture book about a guy who speaks for the trees, come on. That opened my eyes to how many simple kids stories get pulled for dumb reasons, like Brown Bear, Brown Bear for having a picture of a bear that looked like some politician. It's wild what people find scary.

I saw a list last year, @jesse_cooper, where over 40 Dr. Seuss books got pulled. It really shows how far this stuff goes.
