Found out something wild about Reddit's shadowban system

I got shadowbanned from a subreddit last month for posting a link to an article about a local protest. No warning, no message, nothing. I only found out because I checked my profile in an incognito window and saw my posts were invisible. Turns out there's a bot that scans for certain keywords and automatically hides your content. Has anyone else figured out how to tell if you're actually banned vs just being ignored?

Honestly that sounds like you got caught by a legit auto-mod filter, not some secret shadowban system. The sub probably has rules about linking to protest coverage cause it can get brigaded. Check the sidebar next time before hitting post.

Huh, did you actually look at their post history? They said the mods never even gave them a reason. Auto-mod usually sends a removal reason. So something weird is going on there.
