Got a 30-day ban from a local Facebook group for correcting a fact about pressure washing laws...
Someone posted that you could run a pressure washer business here in Charlotte without any license at all, which is flat wrong. I commented with a link to the city's actual contractor rules page and got hit with a 'spreading misinformation' flag from a mod... then the ban. Learned that some people just want an echo chamber, not facts. How do you handle it when trying to correct something gets you silenced instead?

Is it really worth getting banned over pressure washer rules though? I get wanting to be right, but some Facebook groups are just like that. You could have just let the wrong info sit there, it's not like the city is checking that group for law breakers. Sometimes you have to pick your battles, and online arguments about local business licenses are almost never one of them.

But what if that fine is someone's rent money?

But what if someone follows that bad advice and gets a real fine, @nathan545? The wrong info can actually cost people money, not just an argument. Letting it slide feels irresponsible when you know better.
