PSA: My mom blocked my texts after I called out her favoritism

My friend had a big fight with her mom over her mom clearly liking her brother more. Got the silent treatment via blocked texts and all. She started a private group with her sisters to vent and share funny stories. It's crazy how family won't just talk things out like normal people. But hey, at least we have our own spaces to deal with it.

Yikes, that sounds all too familiar. A buddy of mine had a similar thing where his dad clearly favored his sister. His dad would always praise her grades but barely notice when he made the football team. It blew up during a holiday dinner when my friend finally called him out on it. After that, he and his cousins made a private chat to share stupid jokes and vent about the drama. It's wild how families often just shut down instead of talking it out. But those little groups do help you feel less alone in the mess.

Totally get the "silent treatment via blocked texts" thing. My mom did that after I pointed out she only visits my brother's kids. She'll drive hours for his soccer games but "forgets" my daughter's birthday every year. My sister and I have a secret chat where we just send eye roll emojis when mom posts another pic of just his family. It's pathetic but our group keeps us sane.
