Got a 7-day ban on Nextdoor for a comment about a new traffic circle
They put one in at the end of my street in Bellingham last month, and it's a mess. I posted that the design seemed bad and the city planner should have to use it every day. Nextdoor said that was a 'personal attack on a public official' and locked me out. Has anyone else gotten banned for just criticizing a city project?

Bellingham's Nextdoor is basically its own little government at this point. What got me was the same thing, a comment on a crosswalk redesign that made no sense for our neighborhood. Got a week ban for saying the city council member should walk it during a rainy rush hour. The_wren's point about changing your mind is spot on, I used to think those bans were fair too until I got one for basically nothing. Best advice is to appeal it directly to Nextdoor support, not the local mods. Just say you were providing constructive feedback on a public project and mention you feel the ban was overly strict. Might take a couple days but they usually reduce it after you push back.
