Got a quiet warning from a mod on a history forum that actually made sense
Was debating a Civil War battle thread and a mod messaged me saying I was dancing too close to modern politics... he was right though, it wasn't about the topic. Has anyone else had a mod actually help them stay on track instead of just swinging the ban hammer?

Why would you want a mod to help you stay on track though? That sounds like a slippery slope where they start deciding what's "on topic" based on their own biases. If you can't make a historical comparison to modern politics without getting a quiet warning, maybe the mod is just protecting their own pet narrative instead of fostering real discussion.
