Got booted from a crochet Facebook group for questioning a pattern hack

Some influencer posted this hack for fixing twisted chains using a bobby pin, and I commented that it didn't work on my 4mm hook after trying it twice. The admin called me a troll and banned me within an hour. I've been crocheting for 11 years, so I know what I'm doing. Has anyone else been kicked out of a craft group for just asking about technique?

Oh boy, another "expert" hack that only works in a perfect world with perfect tension and a perfectly smooth hook. I got the boot from a yarn group once for suggesting that maybe weaving in ends with a needle was fine, and the admin acted like I'd insulted their grandma's afghan. Guess questioning the hive mind is a bigger crime than actual bad advice, huh?
