One mod's note made me rewrite my entire appeal message

Got banned from a local news comments section for calling a story 'clickbait', then the mod wrote back saying my tone was 'dismissive, not critical'. I reworded the same point with sources from the city's own budget report and got unbanned in 2 days, has anyone else found that citing local data changes the outcome?
