The ban pattern I keep seeing on Reddit lately
I've been noticing this thing where people get banned for calling out obvious misinformation in certain subs. Like last week I saw a user who just posted a direct quote from a CDC page about vaccine stats from 2022, and within 2 hours the mods hit them with a permanent ban for "misinformation." I went back and read the whole comment chain, they weren't even arguing with anyone. It seems like the mods are just banning anyone who brings up facts that go against the sub's vibe, even if the info comes straight from .gov sources. Has anyone else run into this where you get kicked out for sharing something the mods personally disagree with?

Wait, are we sure those mods even read the full context before swinging the ban hammer? I've seen this exact thing happen in a few big subs where any stat that doesn't match the groupthink gets you deleted. It feels like they just scan for keywords and auto ban without checking if the source is legit or not. The worst part is you can't even appeal it because they never answer modmail. Honestly it makes the whole site feel rigged when you can't share a simple government fact without getting kicked out.

Oh man, you hit the nail right on the head there. I got banned from a sub once for posting a link to the Census Bureau website because someone claimed it was "misleading" even though it was straight from the source. They never even replied to my modmail, just left me hanging for weeks until I gave up. It's like they have these auto-ban bots that just flag anything with certain words or links, and nobody actually reads the post to see if it's legit or not. That whole appeal process feels like a joke when you're just shouting into the void.
