Pro tip: I posted that 'distracted boyfriend' meme with a political figure in my city's subreddit to test the mods, and it got removed in under 10 minutes for 'low effort' while actual spam stayed up for hours.
It showed me that vague rules about 'effort' are often just a cover for viewpoint removal, so what specific meme got you guys banned for a reason that felt totally made up?

Our local sub banned a photo of potholes for being off-topic, like kellyfoster's sign.

Oh man, the "low effort" excuse gets thrown around so much. I had the same thing happen when I posted a pic of a sidewalk that was literally crumbling into a construction site. They said it was "not relevant to the community" even though it was a main street downtown. What worked for me was I just started crossposting to our state sub and tagging the local mods there. Got way more traction and suddenly the local mods were like "oh we'll look into it" real fast lol. Sometimes you just gotta take the convo somewhere they can't delete it.

That "cover for viewpoint removal" thing is so real. I got a week off for a "low effort" post that was just a photo of a city council sign with a typo. It was clearly because it made a certain person look bad, right? The rules just bend to fit what they don't like.
