Warning: that "free" campus speaker event cost me 4 hours and my Thursday night

Last month my poli sci professor gave extra credit for attending a guest lecture on campus speech debates. I showed up, sat through 90 minutes, and the guy got cut off by protesters within the first 15 minutes. They shut the whole thing down and I didn't even get the credit because the professor said it was "disrupted beyond completion." Has anyone else gotten burned by these required attendance events that fall apart before they even start?

Honestly, I get the frustration, but maybe the point of that lecture was seeing what happens when people shut down speech. Sounds like you got a real life lesson even if the professor didn't count it.
