Overheard a client say his old barber never used clippers twice
Last week a guy in my chair told me his previous barber for 12 years only used scissors, even for the back and sides. Said he never trusted a fade done with clippers because of some bad experience back in 2011. I get the craft part, but for tight tapers and hot days, I don’t see how pure scissor work holds up for most guys. Has anyone else had clients with strong opinions like that, and do you ever try to change their mind or just roll with it?

12 years of just scissors is wild. That 2011 bad fade is probably still living rent free in his head, and no amount of clean taper work is gonna fix that. Guys like that usually aren't really asking for a different cut, they just want the same chair experience they had forever.
