TIL I had to choose between banning a friend or getting banned myself from a D&D group

I was in a local D&D group in Denver where one guy kept cheating on his rolls, and the DM said I had to either call him out publicly or stop coming to sessions. I picked calling him out, but the whole group sided with him and I got banned instead. Was it better to keep the peace or stand on principle when everyone else looks the other way?

That really sucks, sorry that happened. Was the cheating obvious or was it more subtle stuff?

4 missed calls and a text saying "working late" while she was tagged at a bar two blocks from my place. That's how I found out, @janac59. It was super obvious once I started paying attention. She'd get weird about her phone and had new "work friends" she never mentioned before. The gaslighting was the worst part, making me think I was crazy for noticing. Honestly, if it feels off, it probably is. You ever have that gut feeling that ended up being right?
