Appreciation post: KMC chains. Used to swear by Shimano.
Finally switched to a KMC X11 on my gravel bike last month. Broke two Shimano chains in four months, figured it was my shifting style. The KMC chain tool is a game changer. Link pins snap in way cleaner, less force needed. Has anyone else had better luck with aftermarket chains over OEM?

KMC chains are fine and all but Shimano stuff just works out of the box with Shimano drivetrains. Messing with a third party chain always introduces some variable you didn't plan for. Maybe those breaks were just bad luck or installation issues, not the chain itself.

Dude I swear Shimano chains have been cursed lately, blown through two myself before making the switch. KMC tool is legit night and day compared to the frustration of their pin system, makes you wonder why OEM stuff is even a thing. Honestly think they just want you to buy their overpriced chain every few months.
