Just hit 500 bottom bracket replacements in my shop log
I was cleaning up the work log from last year and did a count. We did exactly 500 bottom bracket jobs in 2023. It's wild because I remember thinking we'd maybe hit 300. It matters because it shows how much the new press-fit standards have taken over, and how many are failing early. We used almost 15 full tubes of Park Tool BSA-1 grease just on those. Has anyone else seen a huge jump in BB work, or is it just our area?

That "15 full tubes of grease" line really hits home. We saw the same spike and started using a threadlocker and grease mix on every press fit install, no exceptions. It cut our comeback rate for creaks by more than half last season. The extra minute it takes to clean and prep the shell is worth it when the bike doesn't come back in two months.

Glad you found a fix that works. Press fit creaks are the worst.
