My cousin ruined a 5 star show for me in one text

So I was 12 episodes deep into this crime drama, you know the one where the detective has a drinking problem and the twist is hidden in plain sight. My cousin, who I swear watches everything a year late, sends me a random text about how the killer is actually the partner. No spoiler warning, no 'you seen this yet', just pure chaos at 11pm on a Tuesday. I stared at my phone for a solid minute, then closed the laptop. That was 6 months ago and I still haven't finished that show, not even one episode. The wild part is she didn't even mean to spoil it, she thought I already finished and wanted to talk about the finale. Has anyone else had a show ruined by a family member's careless text and just dropped it forever?

Take the show back and watch it with fresh eyes, because you already know the twist and now you can spot all the clues you missed the first time. That turned it into a whole different show for me, and honestly, it was better the second time around.
