Spent $40 on a show that made me skip a family dinner

I bought the first season of 'The Bear' on a whim last Friday. The plan was to watch one episode before heading to my cousin's place. Six hours later, I was still on the couch, had eaten a whole bag of chips, and missed the entire thing. My mom called to ask where I was and I just said 'sorry, I'm in the weeds.' Anyone else get so sucked into a show they forget basic plans?
