Bought a cheap Chinese laser level and watched my pipe runs line up perfectly after 6 months of fighting with strings
I used to swear by chalk lines and string for setting tube headers because I thought lasers were just for drywallers. After a buddy in Gary showed me his $40 green beam laying out a 50-foot exchanger bundle, I grabbed one and saw my offsets hit within 1/8 inch on the first try. Has anyone else switched from old-school methods and found a tool they doubted actually works better?

Buddy of mine bought one on a whim and ended up burning his string lines for scrap.

That's honestly how a lot of impulse buys go. People see some shiny new tool or gadget online and think it'll be a game changer, then it just collects dust or gets scrapped. Seems like the whole "buy it because it looks cool" cycle is stronger than ever these days.
