Spent 4 hours grinding down a weld that should've taken 45 minutes because I forgot I left my grinder on the truck
Walked back and forth to the truck three times before I realized the damn thing was under my seat the whole time, has anyone else had a tool hunt turn into a full shift waste?

Figured out your problem after two trips to the hardware store once.

You ever just set a tool down in that one spot where you swear you'll remember it, then an hour later you're tearing apart the whole truck like a madman? I've done that with my 4-1/2" grinder so many times I finally just bought a second one to keep in my bag. @sarahh48 knows the pain, a second trip to the store is basically admitting defeat. Now I keep a little checklist on my phone for every job, just the tools I know I'll use, and I check it before I even leave the truck. Saves me from walking back for a tape measure I left on the tailgate for the tenth time.

Kevin_Schmidt97 this hits way too close to home. The grinder trick is genius actually, I might have to steal that idea. I've definitely done the tape measure walk of shame more times than I care to admit, and the worst part is when you're already covered in dust and dirt and have to climb back down the ladder. The phone checklist is a good move, I should probably start doing that before I end up buying a third pair of channel locks.
