I finally read Cloud Atlas after hating the movie for years

I saw the movie in 2012 and thought it was a confusing mess, so I swore off the book forever. Then my book club picked it last fall and I was forced to give it a shot, and the way the stories loop into each other on the page actually made sense to me. Did anyone else have their mind changed by the book after writing off the film version?

Actually picked up on the theme of reincarnation way more in the book. The movie buried that under all the sci fi visuals but the text makes it hit different.

Man that's a good point @leo_carr13! I remember reading the book on a flight and getting totally stuck on the reincarnation bits, but when I saw the movie later I was like wait where did that go? It's kinda like how my buddy Dave swears the original Star Wars novels explained the Force way better than the movies ever did.
