My last book club meeting I spent 11 minutes explaining the entire plot of The Lincoln Highway, including the parts I hadn't read yet, because I was just guessing where it was going. One guy finally said "so you're telling us the whole book in case we never read it" and everyone laughed. I didn't even notice I was doing it until then. Now I just pick one scene and shut up, and go figure, people actually talk back to me now. My recaps were basically me reading the whole book out loud with spoilers and no ending.
