Vent: our book club spent 4 months fighting over one word in chapter 12
We picked a 600 page novel back in March and somehow got stuck on whether the author meant "dim" as a compliment or an insult on page 214. Four months. We met at Dana's place in Fresno every other Thursday and spent maybe 20 minutes total talking about the rest of the book. Last week we finally agreed to disagree and it turned out half the group never even read past chapter 15. Does your club have a rule for cutting a debate off, or do you just let it run until everyone hates each other?
