Went to the new bookstore in Riverdale and saw their 'debate corner' had a sign banning spoilers for the first 30 minutes.
That rule killed our discussion of 'Project Hail Mary' last night because nobody could mention the big twist about Rocky until it was almost time to leave.

That spoiler ban sounds rough for a book like that. Heard a similar story from a friend in a sci-fi book club (they read the same one). Their whole first meeting was people just talking in circles, avoiding the alien's name like it was a landmine. Makes you wonder if the rule should be different for books where the twist is the whole point, you know? Maybe a "spoiler safe" sign for certain titles instead of a blanket time limit.
