A client in Boise asked me to trim her horse's hooves way too short last spring

Last year a lady in Bend wanted me to take her gelding's heels down to nothing for a cleaner look. I pulled up a photo on my phone of a horse with a collapsed heel from my old files. Just laid it next to her horse's foot and asked, "You see how that support is gone?" She got quiet and then said, "Okay, just do what you think is right." Sometimes they just need to see the end result of the bad idea.

I read the original 'Maus' and then a version with the 'offensive' parts removed from a school library.

Honestly, sometimes people get too worked up about edits. It's just a book in a school library, not the only copy in the world. Maybe the cleaned up version gets more kids to actually read it first. The point still gets across, just with less harsh details. Seems like making a big deal over nothing when the original is easy to find anywhere else.

My city council rep said 'nothing to hide, nothing to fear' about the new app monitoring proposal.

Yeah, that "nothing to hide" line is such a weak argument. A buddy of mine got his bank account frozen for a week because an algorithm flagged a totally normal money transfer to his cousin overseas. The bank said it matched a "suspicious pattern" and he had zero way to fight it. He wasn't hiding anything, but he still got treated like a criminal over a computer guess. That stuff changes you.

I thought the whole 'mudding with a sponge' trick was a joke until last week

Honestly my uncle used a credit card to spread spackle once and it looked shockingly good. Tbh weird tools just work sometimes.

Appreciation post: A job in a 1920s bungalow in Savannah made me stop using a knee kicker on every seam.

Power stretchers are a game changer on old floors, totally worth the setup time lol.
