Gave up on using a bone folder from a craft store

I bought a cheap bone folder for $8 at Michael's last year and it broke in half while I was creasing a stack of endpapers. The plastic ones they sell are just painted white, not actual bone. I ended up shelling out $35 for a real one from a proper bookbinding supplier and it's way better. Anyone else get burned by those fake bone folders?

Man, you paid for the privilege of learning that lesson the hard way! I swear those craft store "bone folders" are just thin plastic spatulas with a sad paint job. They probably snap if you look at them wrong. $35 sounds like a lot, but a real bone tool will outlive your grandkids. Consider it an initiation fee into the "yeah, that's not actually bone" club.

@hayden587 Yeah, I'm a proud member of that club, just with a lighter wallet now.
