Lost my favorite orchid after moving to Denver, the dry air got it

I moved to Denver last month and my phalaenopsis started dropping leaves within a week, the humidity here is around 20 percent. I tried misting and a pebble tray but the roots still turned gray and shriveled up, so it died by the third week. Has anyone else struggled with keeping tropical plants alive in this climate and what actually worked for you?

my orchid lasted 3 weeks in boulder before i gave up. got a grow tent off amazon for $40 and a cheap humidifier, that did the trick. honestly just get a cabinet or shelf setup, pebble trays are useless here.
