My EEG cap shorted out mid-session and I spent 45 minutes re-tinning the electrodes

I was trying to capture P300 signals for a homebrew BCI project last Tuesday and the ground wire just snapped off, has anyone else had those cheap bioamp connectors fail on them?

Isn't it always the grounding that gives out first? Those cheap connectors are just asking for trouble, especially when you're trying to do anything serious with a homebrew setup.

Those cheap connectors are junk. Had one fail on me during a recording too.
