I finally bought a big bag of rice and it changed my whole food budget
I mean, I always thought rice was just a side dish, but I spent about $8 on a 20-pound bag a month ago. I've been using it as the base for almost every dinner, adding whatever cheap veggies and a bit of protein I have. It's crazy how far it stretches. I made a huge pot of fried rice with leftover chicken and frozen peas that fed me for three days. Has anyone else found one cheap thing that became their kitchen staple?

Wait, isn't rice just... rice? Like, it's cheap and filling sure, but you're eating it for every dinner? That sounds kinda bleak after a while. I get saving money but food is one of the few good things in life. Doesn't it get super boring having the same base all the time? I feel like you'd burn out on it fast.
