My neighbor swore by a $3 meal trick and I had to test it myself

My neighbor Frank told me to always buy whole chickens instead of parts, saying 'You get three meals for the price of one.' I bought a $7 chicken at the store on Tuesday. First night was roast chicken, then I made soup from the bones, and finally a chicken salad from the leftover meat. Has anyone else got a cheap tip that actually works this well?

Frank is so right about the whole chicken thing. That soup from the bones is the best part, it feels like free food. My cheap tip is to grab the marked down veggies right before the store closes and roast them all at once. They keep for days and you can toss them in eggs, pasta, whatever.

Wait, you go to the store right before it closes?
