A hostel clerk in Prague once told me to just buy groceries at the train station

I was stressing about food costs, and he said the main station's market has the same stuff as supermarkets but way cheaper after 7 PM. Saved me probably 50 bucks that week. Anyone know other cities where the train station is the real budget food spot?

Berlin's main station has that same weird discount bread magic.

Okay but is it really that big of a difference? Sounds like a lucky find more than a real rule. The_drew's Berlin bread thing is probably just day-old stuff they need to sell. Train stations are usually a rip-off, not a secret discount spot. I'd still check a regular grocery store first.

Berlin station bread is a legit life hack, honestly.
