In my experience, I saved a bundle by not correcting a store's pricing mistake. It's a moral gray area, but my grocery budget is finally under control. Your mileage may vary.

Notice how this kind of thing only ever goes one way. People will quietly take the win from a big chain store but would probably cough up the difference at a local farmer's market. It shows we all have a sliding scale for this stuff, where the bigger the company, the less guilt we feel. The real test is whether you'd do the same thing to a person just trying to get by.

We'll exploit loopholes with giants like Amazon but play fair with mom-and-pop shops.

Saw a guy at the self-checkout last week. He rang up a whole pack of steaks as bananas. Just tapped the screen a few times and walked out. That's not a loophole, that's straight up theft. Would he do that to the butcher down the street? No way. It's like people think a corporation can't feel it, so it doesn't count.
