Just realized my gym habit became way cheaper with a park and a backpack

Honestly, I was paying a ton for a fancy gym just to run on a treadmill. Tbh, I switched to jogging at the local park and doing bodyweight stuff. I filled an old backpack with some books for weight, and it works fine. Ngl, seeing that monthly charge gone feels pretty good for my bank account and my knees.

Yeah it's funny how we make things so complicated sometimes. Like buying all these kitchen gadgets when a good knife and a pot does most jobs, or paying for five streaming services when the library has all the movies for free. We get sold this idea that we need the special gear or the monthly subscription for it to "count." But your backpack full of books is the perfect example of getting it done without all the extra stuff.

Look at how many things got simpler when we cut the extra stuff. I used to buy all the fancy kitchen gear, but my most used tool is still the cheap metal spatula from college. Half the fitness industry wants you to believe you need their specific rubber mat to exercise, but a towel on the grass works the same. We pay for the feeling of doing it "right" when the free, basic version often works better.
