Unpopular opinion: Cutting the cord on cable was my best financial move
Ten years ago, my cable bill was over a hundred bucks a month without a second thought. Now I use a couple streaming services and an antenna for local channels. The setup costs some upfront, but I save nearly a thousand dollars a year. It feels good to not pay for channels I never watched.

My friend Sarah had a crazy cable bill close to $150 a month and only watched like three channels. She bought a basic streaming device and a $20 antenna last fall. Now she saves over a hundred bucks each month and uses it for her daughter's dance classes.

That's such a common story these days. I mean, it feels like everyone is waking up to how much they waste on stuff they don't really use. Maybe it's just me but I see friends ditching gym memberships, subscription boxes, all that. They keep what actually matters and cut the rest, just like your friend did. It's kind of a shift towards being more careful with money, especially with prices going up. Saving that extra cash can make a real difference for things like family stuff.
