Why does nobody talk about the grocery store receipt trick?
In my experience, people just toss their receipts and guess at what they spent. I started keeping mine for a full month, adding up just the food items. It was over $600, which shocked me. Now I check the receipt before I leave the store, and it's helped me catch overcharges and rethink impulse buys. Has anyone else found a simple receipt habit that made a big difference?

I mean, my receipt habit is just staring at the total and quietly having a small heart attack.

Take that heart attack and turn it into a plan. I started forcing myself to guess the total before the cashier finishes, which makes me way more aware of each item's cost. It turns a moment of shock into a useful game.
