Update: My yearly journal setup is eating up my weekend

I pre-made all my monthly spreads for the next year, thinking it would save time later. But now I see blank pages because my plans changed. Some say this way is quick, others think it's too rigid. How do you handle your long-term layouts?

Wait, she got injured in week two and the whole book was ruined? That's exactly why I could never do those detailed future layouts. It's like you're setting up a trap for yourself where any little change makes you feel bad. I tried doing a full year of pre-drawn finance trackers once and my car blew up in March, which made all my careful budget sheets totally wrong and honestly kinda stupid looking. Now I just use a basic weekly layout and add extra notes when life happens, because life always happens.

Pre-making those monthly spreads is a classic mistake. My cousin did the same thing with her workout planner, filled in every session for six months. She got injured in week two and the whole book became a guilt trip. Now she just uses blank notebooks and writes as she goes, way less pressure. Maybe ditch the pre-made stuff and let the journal adapt with you.
