Finally fixed my inventory tracking by using a simple whiteboard

I kept losing track of which supplies were running low because our spreadsheet was too cluttered. After three months of chaos, I just hung a whiteboard by the back door. Now every time someone grabs the last box of something, they write it down right away. My stockouts dropped from once a week to maybe once a month. Has anyone else tried low tech fixes that worked better than fancy software?

Wait, did you try erasing and rewriting stuff on the whiteboard every week like I did, or did you just let it pile up? @claire64 I feel you on the sticky notes, but after a week mine fell behind the tool chest and I found a month-old note under there saying "need screws.
