Face frame clamp failed mid-glueup, lost 2 hours of work
Had a project due Friday for a client in Portland and was doing the final face frame assembly on 6 cabinets last night. The old quick clamp I've used for years just snapped its jaw right when I was cinching down the last joint, and the whole frame shifted about 4mm before I could grab it. I had to pull all the joints apart, scrape off the glue, and redo the setup from scratch, which cost me a solid 2 hours. Lucky thing I keep a spare strap clamp in the van, but man, that threw my whole timeline off for today. Anyone else had a favorite tool fail at the worst possible moment? How do you keep your glueups from going sideways when gear gives out?
