Question about that new 'fast set' epoxy for miter joints
I tried a bottle of that 'Rapid Bond' stuff on a maple frame last month, cost me about $45. It set up way too fast before I could get the clamps square, and I had to scrap the whole piece. What do you guys use for tricky glue ups that gives you more working time?

Oh man, that stuff is basically instant regret in a bottle! I learned the hard way too, it's like they named it after how fast you have to move. For tricky miters now, I just stick with regular yellow glue and use a trick with a tiny bit of water to slow the set a little. Gives you those precious extra seconds to fuss with the clamps.

Saw my buddy glue his fingers together with that stuff last weekend.

Actually have to disagree with you guys. Titebond 2 is the best thing that happened to my shop. Used it for three years now on probably 200+ projects. Never had a glue failure. Not one joint popped or came loose. Yeah you gotta work fast but that's the whole point. The speed makes you more deliberate with your setup. Prep everything before you squeeze the bottle.
