Serious question, has anyone else been cutting their own drawer slides?

I was building a kitchen for a client in Springfield and kept having drawers stick. After three tries, I finally watched a guy on YouTube who said to just buy the slides. I spent a whole day making my own, and they were never right. The metal ones cost $40 a set and fit perfect every time. How many of you still make your own slides instead of buying them?

I mean, I tried making my own slides once for a simple shop cabinet. It was just a huge time suck for a worse result, you know? I just buy them now.

Sometimes the homemade ones just fit better though.
