Switching to a Kanban board cut our meeting time by 40% at my warehouse in Portland

Funny how the simplest stuff usually wins out, right? Feels like half the time we overcomplicate things at work when a whiteboard and a shared coffee spot could do the trick. Makes you wonder what other problems could be fixed with a big sheet of paper and a marker.

Showerthought: I miss when cars didn't need a computer just to change the oil

My 89 F-150 went 30 miles on rust and starter fluid once.

Found out why my orchids weren't blooming from a nursery worker in Portland

Yeah that temperature drop thing is real. I kept my phalaenopsis in a heated room all winter and got nothing but leaves. Once I started moving them to a cooler room at night for a few weeks in fall, bam, flower spikes showed up. Also make sure you're not using ice cubes to water them, that trick is terrible for the roots. Just a good soak once a week and let them dry out between.

Tried breading chicken with panko instead of flour mix and it all slid off in the basket last night

Oh man @alex524 you're not wrong at all. I literally did the same thing one time when I was craving fried chicken but trying to keep it low carb. I ended up crushing up pork rinds and mixing them with parmesan and it actually worked pretty well. The texture wasn't exactly the same as real breading but it was close enough that I made it like three nights in a row. Honestly that's kind of the whole trick with keto cooking, just finding what substitutes work for you and rolling with it.

Appreciation post: A client told me 'I just want it to work' after I explained a $200 repair, and it clicked.

My neighbor tried that approach pitching his product once and ended up spending 20 minutes explaining how to fold a fitted sheet instead of closing the deal. Sometimes the simple version really IS the better way to go.
