Switched to Blum soft-close hinges after 12 years of standard ones
I used to just grab whatever cheap hinges were at the hardware store in Portland for all my jobs. Then I did a kitchen remodel for a client who insisted on Blum hardware and I was SHOCKED at how much smoother the install went. No more adjusting the same cabinet door 3 times after a month of use. Has anyone else made the switch and noticed a difference in callbacks?

Man that bit about "adjusting the same cabinet door 3 times after a month" hits hard. I had a set of cheap hinges on my own kitchen island that drove me nuts for like two years before I finally replaced them. So here's my question - when you switched, did you notice a big difference in how the doors stay aligned over time especially with the humidity changes we get in different seasons? Because that's always been my main headache with standard hinges, they just seem to drift out of whack after a few months no matter how careful I am.

@matthewh28 oh man you nailed it with the humidity thing. That's exactly what I noticed too. With cheap hinges, after a hot and humid summer I'd be back at that cabinet door adjusting the screw again because it just drifted. But with Blum hinges, I swear they hold their adjustment way better. I did a kitchen in a house that had no AC for a few months while the owner was waiting on install, and those doors stayed put. The whole 3D adjustment thing really locks in place compared to the basic ones where the screw just kinda sits there loose. It's night and day for callbacks honestly.
