Trimmed a face frame 3/16" long last Tuesday in Boise and learned a trick with a dollar bill
I folded a dollar bill in half, slid it behind the frame as a shim gauge, and got the reveal dead even on the second try, so has anyone else used cash as a feeler gauge or am I the only one raiding my wallet at the bench?

Using a dollar bill as a shim seems like overkill for a 3/16 gap.
