Found out coax cable has a lifespan of 10-15 years from a 1998 install I pulled yesterday
I was ripping out an old drop that had been active since '98 and the dielectric was dry and cracked to hell, but it still passed signal on the meter, so how many of us are leaving ancient lines in service that are literally falling apart inside?

Old cable still works fine if the outer jacket stayed dry, so yours was the exception.
