Hot take: that 'quick' wall fish in a 1920s house ate my whole Saturday
Went to run a single coax drop in a house near downtown Frederick and figured it was a 30 minute job, easy money. That knob and tube wiring plus plaster and lath meant my fish tape kept snagging on old staples every few feet, and there was no stud bay I could use without hitting a fire block. Ended up cutting three small access holes and patching them, and the whole thing took me just over 5 hours. Back in the day I could've run this in 20 minutes in a new build with open bays. What's your go to trick for old plaster walls when the fish just won't go?
